The founder and head of Kang's Taekwondo Academy is Grandmaster Johnny CW Kang.  

He has studied and practiced martial arts for all of his life and believes that Taekwondo is a way of life and good for everyone.  His belief in Taekwondo is so powerful that he has dedicated his life to passing down its lessons, philosophy, and ancient ways.  He has taught and transformed thousands of students since 1994 and will continue to do so for the rest of his life.

Grandmaster Johnny CW Kang is a Taekwondo 7th Dan Taekwondo Black Belt and also holds black belt degrees in Hapkido, Shorin Ryu Karate-Do, and Tang Soo Do. He is the recipient of numerous Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) Citations and Special Commendation Awards for his contribution to the development and dissemination of Taekwondo in the U.S.A.

Kang's Taekwondo Academy offers certified instructors to ensure that our online martial arts classes are safe, effective, and fun.  They are trained to focus beyond the physical skills and are experts at tailoring their lessons to fit any individual. Lessons are taught in an encouraging and positive reinforcement style to yield maximum results. Our classes are designed to develop the best in physical and mental benefits, including character development for all ages.

Grandmaster Kang is currently the executive director of the United States Taekwondo Committee.

His former positions include: President of California State (USTC), Vice-President of the CUTA (California Unified Taekwondo Association), Co-Captain of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team, Overseas Advisory Board Member for the Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Headquarters), Secretary General of the NCTA (Northern California Taekwondo Association), Secretary General of Chang Woo Hoe of America Association, Team Manager of the California Korean Amateur Sports Association (KASA), Special Assistant to the CUTA (California Unified Taekwondo Association, Auditor of the Korean Amateur Sports Association (KASA), Special Assistant to the Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters), USA Team Manager at the "Korea Open" Taekwondo Championships, Local Organizing Committee Manager for the USOC (United States Olympic Committee) "Titan Games", Producer of the California State Taekwondo Hanmadang Championships, Vice Chairman of the U.S. Taekwondo Hanmadang Championships and Trainer and Head Coach of numerous California State, U.S. National and World Champions.
